Brittany Lincicome of the United States hits a tee shot on the ninth hole during the final round of the Pure Silk Bahamas LPGA Classic

Brittany Lincicome of the USA fired a tournament record nine-under 64 on Thursday to grab a two-stroke lead after the first round of the LPGA Pure Silk Bahamas Classic. "I'm just playing well, and still made everything today".

"When it went in, I was like, do I jump up and down or do I just wave my arms?"

"I have to be able to get a good score even when things are not going well", Hataoka said.

Just Annika Sorenstam, the only tour player to post a 59, owns a lower score among the women - the 13-under she signed for when she finished with the 59 in the second round of the 2001 Standard Register Ping.

Thompson shattered the course and tournament records at the Paradise Island Ocean Club layout in the Bahamas with 10 birdies and an eagle in a bogey-free round. "So really just focusing on really trusting what I have and trusting the line, speed that I choose".

'Today's players have enough money' - Rooney discusses management aim
Rooney's role at United has gone from first name on the team sheet to impact substitute relatively quickly but fans will always appreciate him for his years of service; not to mention his incredible goal tally.

"I changed putters mid past year I think before International Crown". "I hit the ball solid and [I'm] putting well".

"I look at the hole, and then as soon as I get my eyes back to the ball, I just stare at that".

Lincicome registered her sixth career ace to move to 17-under 129, obliterating the previous 36-hole tournament record by a staggering six shots to hold a one-shot edge over hard-charging Lexi Thompson. On the par-3 No. 3, she sliced her tee shot to the base of a tree and, unable to make a shot, took a one-stroke penalty and came out with another bogey.

That sparked a run of five straight to grab back the ascendancy and a closing birdie at the ninth ensured she would maintain her place atop the leaderboard.

The only Australian left in the field after Friday's cut is Sarah Jane Smith who is 14 shots behind Lincicome after rounds of 72 and 71.
