Though gas, rental auto and hotel prices are slightly higher than last year's holiday, she said, travel won't be deterred.

Statewide, about 84 percent of travelers, or 4.08 million, are expected to go by vehicle, a 2.9 percent increase over 2016.

The number of people who will catch a flight out of town is increasing by 6.2 percent, and there's a tiny jump of 0.4 percent in the number of people who will travel by rail, bus, and other modes of transportation.
