Sacked Delhi minister and former Aam Aadmi Party leader Kapil Mishra on Wednesday began a hunger strike in protest against the alleged misuse of public money by the government.

The man, identified as Ankit Bhardwaj, attempted to slap Mishra but was stopped by the former minister's supporters.

Drama erupted over the the assailant's affiliation with both AAP and BJP terming him an activist of the rival party.

In the letter, Mishra claimed that the way AAP leaders and volunteers were quick to brand Bhardwaj as a BJP worker aroused suspicion that the entire episode was scripted "like the past attacks on you (Kejriwal)".

AAP has called Mr Mishra's allegations "wild and baseless".

Reacting to the incident, he wrote a letter to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, alleging that the attacker, Ankit Bharadwaj, was attached with the mohalla clinics project under Health Minister Satyendar Jain, reported PTI.

AAP claims that the assaulter Ankit Bhardwaj is associated to the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha.

Hazare also questioned suspended Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Kapil Mishra for keeping mum when he saw Kejriwal accepting Rs 2 crore. His photos are there with BJP's Pawan Sharma, Satish Upadhyay.

"I will continue to sit on hunger strike till details of worldwide travel expenses of five AAP leaders are shared", Mishra said. "I would like to send a message to chief minister Arvind Kejriwal to put out the details of the foreign tours of five leaders - Satyendra Jain, Ashish Khetan, Raghav Chaddha, Sanjay Singh and Durgesh Pathak - in public domain", Mishra told reporters. He also registered three complaints with the Central Bureau of Investigation against Kejriwal and other AAP leaders on the same day. "However, I will not file any complaint in this regard", Mishra said.
