Cosby jury hunkers down for 3rd day in sex assault case

On Tuesday, as jury deliberations stretched into a second day without signs of a verdict, Wyatt steered reporters to a former colleague of accuser Andrea Constand who said Constand had once suggested she would try to set up a famous man to get money.

The jury has deliberated a total of about 16 hours over two days.

The jury is weighing three counts of aggravated indecent assault against Cosby, each carrying a maximum 10-year sentence.

Pulliam has said that she will accept the outcome of the trial, which is now in the hands of the jury, but she could not say whether a guilty verdict would change her opinion of Cosby.

The jury deliberated for four hours Monday night before retreating back to the hotel where they have been sequestered since the start of the trial. "I just thought about it, how would I want to be treated if God forbid I was in that situation?"

Cosby, 79, famous for the Cosby Show which aired from 1984 to 1992 for eight seasons, has been embroiled in charges of sexual predation and improper conduct since 2014.

Constand, a 44-year-old Canadian massage therapist and former employee of the Temple University women's basketball program, has alleged that Cosby drugged and assaulted her in 2004 at his Cheltenham mansion.

The administration is asking for $25.6 billion for the core budget of the State Department and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), plus $12 billion for overseas contingency operations.

Since starting deliberations, the jurors have re-examined both Cosby's and Constand's versions of the encounter, with particular focus on the pills he gave her beforehand. The defense also poked holes in Johnson's testimony, citing discrepancies in her recounting of the alleged incident. James Reape to the stand, June 8 where he began pouring over the controversial statements that Mr. Cosby made during a deposition in the civil case settled in 2006 between the comedian and Ms. Constand.

Constand has said she has never met Jackson.

Cosby's lawyer noted to the jury instances where Andrea's statements were inconsistent, stating that, in one interview, she told the police that the assault took place in March 2004 and, in other interviews, January 2004. Prosecutors have suggested he gave her something stronger- perhaps Quaaludes, a highly popular party drug in the 1970s that was banned in the U.S.in 1982.

She said Cosby gave her three pills and wine before touching her breasts, putting his fingers in her vagina and putting her hand on his erect penis after she sought his advice about moving to Canada and switching careers. "I did when I was a kid", said Roland Jennings, a 66-year-old black man who drove about 20 miles from West Chester to wait for the verdict.

Jurors reviewed more than a dozen passages from Cosby's deposition. They cast Cosby as an unfaithful husband - but not a criminal.

Constand chose to return to court for closing arguments Monday after giving more than seven hours of testimony.
