Creating history, Kidambi Srikanth defeated Kazumasa Sakai to win the men's singles Indonesian Open title on Sunday.

Srikanth made short work of Sakai 21-11, 21-19 in the final which lasted barely 37 minutes at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC).

Chen Long of China competes during the men's singles quarterfinal match against Prannoy H.S. of India at Indonesia Open 2017 in Jakarta, Indonesia, June 16, 2017.

"Congrats @srikidambi on your superb win at #IndonesiaSSP Finals". I am also proud of Prannoy who can make it to the semifinals.

Srikanth played the game patiently and did not allow his opponent to engage in any fast-paced rally. He dictated the pace with his precise angled returns and unleashed his smashes at ideal intervals to down his rival.

The second biggest foreign tourist group is from Germany. "I do believe that end is in the very near future", he said. From there, two lawmakers - and not the State Department - got in the driver's seat with Trump , sources tell FP.

After the interval, Srikanth continued to dominate the proceedings. After changing sides, Sakai looked more aggressive in his approach and produced an improved net game to dominate the rallies. The Indian shuttler though was tested in the second game and he fell behind at the mid-game break, trailing Sakai 6-11. The duo moved neck-and-neck till 19-19. Previously, he had won the China Open in 2014 and India Open in 2015. After winning the first game, he had four chances to close out the tie in the second, but wasted all of them.

Kidambi Srikanth marked his title win over Kazumasa Sakai 21-11, 21-19.

"It's definitely much needed for me after losing the final in the Singapore Open", Srikanth said. "It has been a while since I won a super series tournament", he added.

Srikanth, who had earlier kept his nerve as he clinched a 21-15, 14-21, 24-22 win over second-seed Son Wan Ho of Korea in a 73-minute semi-final clash, took the opening game rather comprehensively 21-11. I am shocked to be playing back to back finals. This is quite an honour to get this far in the tournament held in Indonesia, which has strong history in badminton world. I am looking forward to that. I would give my 100 per cent. "It will take a while to digest it and then prepare for tomorrow", Srikanth later said. "I was out of badminton for sometime after the Olympics. But, yes, coming after a long gap, I do feel this is very significant as I set my eyes on the World Championship this August in Scotland", the elated World No. 22 said.
