Severe thunderstorm, flash flood warnings issued for multiple Western Pa. counties

Central Maryland is under a Flash Flood Watch through 8 p.m. but so far, no warnings have been issued.

Thunderstorms are forecast for Monday afternoon in Baltimore, with the possibility of heavy rain and damaging winds, the National Weather Service said.

Forecasters predict isolated showers between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., when heavier storms are expected to roll through.

Wind gusts of over 50 miles per hour are possible when the storm passes through, as is hail and flash flooding from torrential downpours, according to Lessor. A tornado or two and some hail may also be possible, according to the weather service's Storm Prediction Center.

While it's a fairly quiet start, with the exception of a few isolated storms, we are expecting a pretty active afternoon and evening here in the state. An additional 1 to 2 inches of rain are possible.

Dennis Rodman returns from North Korea. And, amazingly, nothing happened
While thousands travel to North Korea each year and return safely, Warmbier's story shows there's a bad price to be paid for some. He is now receiving treatment at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

A NWS flash flood watch issued Monday covered most of MA and northern CT.

Wind gusts up to 60 miles per hour are possible and have the potential to down trees and powerlines and cause isolated structural damage, NWS said. Do not cross flooded roadways - 6 inches of water is enough to knock someone off their feet, and 12 inches of rain can float a auto. Damage to trees and power lines was considered possible from the storm.

Tuesday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. The organization warned that flash flooding is risky and that residents should be prepared to take safety measures. You should have a way to monitor the weather and warnings as they are issued.

Tuesday will be mostly sunny, with a high temperature near 85 degrees.
