Washington Post: Mueller investigating Jared Kushner's business dealings

After a series of Twitter posts Thursday assailing reports that a special counsel is investigating obstruction of justice allegations against him, Trump took to Twitter again Friday.

Carson was asked if he believed Mueller could be fair following the President's tweets calling the probe into alleged collusion between his campaign and Russian Federation "a witch hunt".

In the report by the Washington Post, the investigation is being expanded to consider whether President Trump obstructed justice by asking former Federal Bureau of Investigation director James Comey to end the probe into former #national security Adviser, Michael Flynn, over his ties with Russian Federation, and the firing of the former FBI boss.

A team of investigators hired by special counsel Robert Mueller to probe Russia's campaign to influence the us election will look at the finances and business dealings of President Donald Trump's son-in-law and adviser Jared Kushner, according to a report.

Mueller is also investigating Trump for obstruction of justice, the Post reported Wednesday.

The White House confirmed on Thursday that Mueller was interviewed - presumably about again running the Federal Bureau of Investigation - the day before he was named as special counsel to investigate Russian meddling in last year's presidential election.

A member of President Donald Trump's outside legal team is defending Trump's use of social media.

Kushner attorney Jamie Gorelick pushed back on the report in a statement Thursday evening.

Newtown parent won't view NBC interview of Alex Jones
The woman said she informed her belief that Sandy Hook was fake by reports by Jones' InfoWars and other similar publications. One Newtown parent did appear on Kelly's program: Neil Heslin, whose 6-year-old son, Jesse Lewis, was killed.

The Russian bank, Vnesheconombank, which has been the subject of USA sanctions following Russia's annexation of Crimea, has said Gorkov and Kushner's meeting was held for business reasons because of the advisor's role as head of his family's real estate company. Comey testified that the member of his leadership team said that although it was true at the moment that Trump was not under investigation, it was possible that could change.

"We do not know what this report refers to", Gorelick said.

"I think he's weighing that option", he said of Trump. As Mueller said, "I accept this responsibility and will discharge it to the best of my ability".

Himes says interviews are still being scheduled and documents being reviewed.

Himes says the notion the investigation has been going on too long "is just crazy" and "we're talking about the very core of our democracy here".

The Justice Department's investigation into Russian involvement in the 2016 election is looking at Kushner's multiple roles in the Trump administration, including the Trump campaign's 2016 data analytics operation; his relationship with former national security adviser Michael Flynn; and Kushner's own contacts with Russians, according to U.S. officials briefed on the probe.

Sources informed The Post of the financial focus of the investigation.

The idea that this is a witch hunt, as Trump childishly tweeted this morning, is getting more and more laughable as each passing day brings about another questionable tie or secret dealing with Russian Federation taken by this president or those in his orbit.
