Despite the widespread gossip, Spicer returned from Trump's foreign trip with an on-camera briefing at the White House press briefing on Tuesday, directly contrasting the stories about the future of his job. "And you know, I was talking to a friend the other day who's looking to move out to New Jersey, and we're talking about what he could afford, and what's interesting is, like, if, you know, you spend a million dollars in New Jersey on a home, you're buying a major, major mansion; if you spend a million dollars in NY, it doesn't really get you much".

The intent was to connect Trump's chief national security adviser at the time, Michael Flynn, with Russian military leaders, a person familiar with the discussions told the AP. He ended it nearly speechless, incapable or unwilling to answer even the most basic questions about President Trump and the administration's policies. Spicer's response: "I haven't asked him".

Opponents of the Trump administration were quick to take the opportunity to accuse Kushner of potentially committing espionage and Democrats have called for his security clearance to be removed till the investigation concludes.

Spicer was questioned on May 30 as to where if Trump had previous knowledge concerning multiple efforts by Kushner during December 2016 to establish a back channel for the exclusive objective of communicating with Moscow.

Trump's speech to Israeli parliament scrapped amid concerns
Analysts and commentators were left Wednesday wondering what, if anything, Trump might do to resolve the decades-old conflict. Donald Trump was the first sitting president to visit the Western Wall .

Late December 2016 - Kushner meets Gorkov: As The New York Times first reported, Kushner meets with the president of state-run Russian bank VEB, Sergey Gorkov, at Kislyak's recommendation. Dubke confirmed the reports. The question of "collusion" will probably be easy to prove, but what is the bigger question that nobody seems to want to address at this point in the investigation?

March 27, 2017 - Kushner volunteers to testify before Senate Intelligence Committee: Kushner volunteers to testify before senators investigating ties between the Trump campaign and Russian officials, because of his role in arranging meetings between top campaign advisers and Kislyak.

A top communications aide to President Donald Trump has resigned, in what many inside and outside the White House see as the first exit before a wider overhaul.

When Spicer was asked to comment on the ongoing Russian Federation probe, he said this: "I can not and as I've mentioned the other day that we're focused on the president's agenda and going forward all questions on these matters will be referred to outside counsel Mark Kasowitz". John McCain (R-Ariz.) said "I don't like it", when asked about Kushner's attempt to set up a secret communication channel. One element that is of interest to investigators is the different explanations that Gorkov's bank and the those around Kushner gave for the goal of the meeting.
