Carolina Panthers tackle Michael Oher has been cut from the NFL franchise after suffering concussion problems

Carolina Panthers tackle Michael Oher has been cut from the National Football League franchise after suffering concussion problems.

It's easy to point to Michael Oher's social media post as the primary factor in the Carolina Panthers' decision to cut ties with the tackle on Thursday. What is perhaps surprising is that the Panthers waited so long to make the call to let Oher go.

"The brain is a scary thing", Oher tweeted after the news of his release broke.

Michael Oher, a former first-round pick and the focus of the popular sports movie, The Blind Side, is out of a job.

The move to release Oher was made by interim general manager Marty Hurney, who was hired Wednesday. "Michael understood and we expressed that to him". In May, Oher was accused of assaulting an Uber driver in Nashville, Tennessee, according to Nashville Police.

Frontier Airlines Expands To Pensacola Airport
Sweetening the deal, Frontier Airlines added that it would extend its schedule "with all flights on sale through April 7, 2018". It recently was restored to local control after 20 years of ownership by the city of Los Angeles.

The Memphis native, whose life story was featured in the Academy-Award-winning 2009 film "The Blind Side", was selected No. 23 overall out of MS by the Ravens in 2009.

Oher was a member of the 2012 Ravens Super Bowl team.

A hearing on Oher's misdemeanor assault case that had been scheduled for Friday was pushed back to October 31.

The former Pro Bowl offensive lineman joined the Panthers in 2015 after brief stint with the Tennessee Titans. The team said the "vested veteran/failed physical offensive tackle" started the first three games of the 2016 season before a concussion led to be inactive for the next seven.
