Josh Onomah in action for Tottenham against Villa

Aston Villa are set to land highly-rated Tottenham midfielder Josh Onomah on a season-long loan, Sky sources understand.

Onomah, who is capable of playing as an attacking midfielder or on either flank, has also signed a new four-year deal with Tottenham.

The 20-year-old offers an alternative to Ahmed Elmohamady, Andre Green and Albert Adomah in the wide areas and could also play centrally if required.

Aston Villa created 390 chances in the Championship last season.

"I can't wait to get started", he told Villa's official website.

NDA's Venkaiah Naidu wins vice-presidential election
However, he was picked to lead the NDA charge, and comfortably beat his opponent Gopal Krishna Gandhi by 272 votes. Out of 760 valid votes, Naidu bagged 516 votes and UPA's candidate Gopalkrishna Gandhi got 244 votes.

Onomah, who was part of the England Under-20 squad that won the World Cup during the summer, has made 32 appearances for Spurs since making his debut in 2015 during a FA Cup tie against Burnley.

Onomah, 20, has been in and around the cusp of the Spurs first team for a couple of seasons but will now supposedly receive regular game-time under Steve Bruce at Villa Park, where promotion back to the Premier League is very much the aim ahead of the coming campaign.

The England Under-20 World Cup victor has been touted for a bright future but only made 12 appearances in all competitions for the Spurs first team last season.

"So no, we are not thinking about selling or loaning him out".

The Enfield-born midfielder may have designs on breaking into Pochettino's starting line-up in the future but is now exclusively focusing on helping Aston Villa earn promotion back to England's top-flight. It was a good opportunity for him to show his quality.
