11-year-old girl severely burned in sick 'hot water challenge' prank

An 11-year-old NY girl was badly burned after a 12-year-old girl allegedly poured boiling water on her during a sleepover.

Merritt suffered burns to her burns to her face, neck, shoulders and chest.

Jamoneisha's family says that they have not yet shown the girl the severity of her injuries, but that she is in good spirits, per NBC News 4, a local news channel in NY.

Jamoneisha was rushed to Harlem Hospital's burn unit, and Rev. Robert Rice prayed with her, along with her mother and grandmother, in the hospital room.

The 12-year-old girl was arrested and charged with assault, police said.

Average rainfall every year across the USA has increased by 4 percent since the start of the 20th century, the Times reported . They explain that "There are no convincing alternative explanations supported by the extent of the observational evidence".

"I was told that they didn't like her". The cousin reported that the girl told Jamoneisha not to go to sleep because "they were going to do something to her". "The girl admitted it, "I don't like her, I wanted to do it". "But after she saw what she did to (Jamoneisha) was really wrong, she tried to kill herself". "You let this happen to my daughter!"

'They always prank each other, ' said Panton. "My daughter was sleeping and Jamoni poured cold water on Aniya. She thought they was her friends", Ebony Merritt told NY1 News.

Following Ebony Merritt's Thursday "outburst" cops were called outside Panton's family home to speak with the distressed mother in a bid to "defuse" the situation. I want all that was involved to be brought to justice.

A so-called "hot water challenge" has been proliferating online, apparently pushing people to boil water and toss the scalding liquid on unsuspecting victims. At this point, none of the other children are facing charges.

One incident turned fatal when 8-year-old Florida resident Ki'ari Pope died from burn injuries sustained in March. "I mean, I couldn't even imagine a child doing that to another child".
