The memo says that abilities differ between men and women in part because of biological causes and these differences might explain the reason why that is not equal representations of women within the tech sector and leadership.

According to Reuters, Damore said he was sacked for "perpetuating gender stereotypes".

"We need to stop assuming that gender gaps imply sexism", reads the document, a copy of which was obtained by Gizmodo.

He also argued that women are more neurotic than men, and that this is a factor in their employment.

According to Bloomberg, Damore is understood to have been fired by Google on Monday (7 August) after his internal post went viral over the weekend.

Meanwhile, media reported on Tuesday that the engineer, identified as James Damore who wrote the manifesto, has been fired. Non-tech roles are the most balanced, with women filling 48 per cent of roles, but 75 per cent of leadership roles are staffed by men.

FATA Commission of Human Rights speaks out in support of Ayesha Gulalai
On Friday, the PTI spokesperson rejected the demand for a bi-partisan parliamentary committee to probe Gulalai's allegations. Gulalai on August 1 resigned from the PTI after accusing Imran and his "gang" of immoral behaviour against women.

The employee memo, titled "Google's ideological echo chamber", comes as the company fights a wage-discrimination probe by the Department of Labor, which said it found evidence that the search giant often pays women less than their male counterparts. Danielle Brown, Google's vice president of diversity, integrity, and governance, wrote in a response to Google employees that it "advanced incorrect assumptions about gender" and is "not a viewpoint that I or this company endorses, promotes, or encourages".

Google told AFP that the company "can't comment on individual employee cases". The manifesto comes at a hard time for Google, as the company is being investigated by the Department of Labor for paying women less than men.

However, the author said he received several personal messages sent by colleagues at Google expressing gratitude. "We are unequivocal in our belief that diversity and inclusion are critical to our success as a company", she said in her statement.

In internal discussion boards, multiple employees said they supported firing the author, and some said they would not choose to work with him.

Now some 69 percent of Google's employees are men, according to the company's latest figures, a proportion that rises to 80 percent when it comes to technology jobs.
