HBO cyber hack Game of Thrones Hollywood

This Sunday's episode of "Game of Thrones" has been stolen and posted on the internet - but the leak isn't related to the massive hack of HBO's systems disclosed earlier this week.

In addition, an HBO subsidiary advertised by mistake an episode of the sixth season the day before it was officially launched.

This isn't the first time Game of Thrones has fallen victim to episode leaks, nor is this the most egregious.

Some outlets have confirmed the episode is genuine, with some reporting the footage contains a "for internal viewing only" watermark. Today, the hackers kept their promise and leaked the upcoming episode 4 of GoT Season 7.

The fourth episode - entitled "The Spoils Of War" - has been shared online via a Google Drive link.

Another report suggested more Game Of Thrones episodes could be leaked.

In an automated email reply sent to Variety, the group wrote that it will "release the leak gradually every week", adding that the next release may come "Sunday 12 GMT". In a statement to The Verge, Star India confirms it was the source of the leak, saying, "This is a grave issue and we are taking appropriate legal remedial action".

Earlier this week, hackers reportedly obtained 1.5 terabytes of stolen data from HBO's servers in a recent breach, but they only initially published script outlines on the web. It's an unfortunate but probably unavoidable part of having the world's most popular drama.

"Information security is a prime concern at HBO, and we assume our role and responsibility seriously to save guide information that is assigned to us". We're almost halfway through a shorter season, and while we wait to see what happens next, a slew of new images from episode 4, titled The Spoils of War, have been released to further fuel the speculation. "As has been the case with any challenge we have ever faced, I have absolutely no doubt that we will navigate our way through this successfully".
