Swift took the stand herself on Thursday when she testified that Mueller "stayed latched on to my bare ass cheek as I lurched away from him".

Swift, who has 85 million followers on Twitter and 102 million followers on Instagram, earned $170 million in the year to June 2016 following a world tour and her best-selling "1989" album, according to Forbes Magazine.

She dismissed attempts to dissuade her from her story and rejected the suggestion that she had continued greeting guests for as long as 30 minutes after the alleged assault, as if nothing had happened.

There have been few artists as divisive as Taylor Swift in recent years.

Pop superstar Taylor Swift's mother recounted before a United States jury on Wednesday the moment her "shattered" daughter said she had been groped by a local radio host.

Swift said she was sure.

Swift then countersued with a sexual assault claim.

The pop star was cordial, but direct and sometimes testy while being questioned by a lawyer representing the DJ, David Mueller, on Thursday in federal court in Denver.

Swift's attorney Doug Baldridge argued that the incident did happen and that Mueller was suing for fame and money. "He grabbed my ass underneath my skirt".

Swift's mother also testified and said that she "knew something was horribly wrong" when she saw the photo and found her daughter feeling humiliated.

In a deposition, Swift said that Mueller "took his hand and put it up my dress and grabbed onto my a- cheek and no matter how much I scooted over it was still there".

The trial has attracted Swift fans.

The mother tearfully acknowledged that her daughter expressed bewilderment at having "thanked" Mueller and his girlfriend after posing with them, despite believing that she had just been groped.

"Wednesday's testimony was delayed while the judge held a closed hearing with both sides to discuss unspecified evidence".

And to prove to you even more why you shouldn't try to undermine TayTay, when McFarland asked her why her skirt was not lifting in the front in the photo, she quickly responded, "Because my ass is in the back of my body".

Mueller is a former radio show host.

She got a laugh when she said Dent saw Mueller "lift my skirt" but someone would have had to have been underneath her to see the actual groping - "and we didn't have anyone positioned there".

Call said Swift's liaison to radio stations, Frank Bell, told him Swift's team was "outraged ... very upset" by what happened and was considering all options, including alerting the police.
