Shaka Hislop and Alexis Nunes discuss the implications of Isco's new deal on Gareth Bale's future at Real Madrid.

Barcelona have emerged from a cloud of pessimism to make a flawless start to their La Liga campaign and travel to Getafe on Saturday looking to stretch their advantage over Real Madrid, whose early optimism has been dampened.

Isco's previous deal was set to expire in the summer of 2018 so reports suggested that Real were also ready to negotiate his departure in order to avoid losing him for free. The contract includes a ludacrous release clause of 700 million Euro.

In April, Isco took to social media to rule out such a move, playing down the concerns of Real fans after he accidentally posted a picture on Instagram with a packet of Barcelona crisps.

Arsene Wenger happy with Jack Wilshere progress on latest injury return
On Thursday, FC Koln will become the 64th different that Arsene Wenger will face as the Arsenal manager. Asked if he can get back to his best, Wenger replied: "Yes, if he is injury-free he will come back".

The European champions are already four points behind title rivals Barcelona in the early season table following unexpected slip-ups at home to Levante and Valencia, but Bale told a sponsorship event in the Spanish capital on Friday afternoon: "We must keep calm and keeping going game by game".

A pall of gloom hung over the Catalans in the close season following the departure of Neymar to Paris St Germain and other failures in the transfer market, leading club members to sign a petition of no confidence against the club president. I never heard anything. As I said, my idea was to succeed at Real Madrid. "I have a lot of faith in this team". I've had bad times but that makes me savour the good moments. He also became a regular starter with Spain's national team.

"Some say the left wing is where he should play, but before his injury, he was Real's best player and he was mostly affecting the game through the centre, as a 10 or as a striker. It's the biggest club in the history of the game".
