J&K: Pak violates ceasefire in Arnia area of RS Pura sector; BSF jawan martyred

The Indian army says a border guard has been killed in cross-border fire from Pakistan in the disputed Kashmir region.

Constable Brijendra Bahadur Singh - died after being injured in firing during ceasefire violation by Pakistan in Arnia global border area of RS Pura sector.

They said that a bullet hit Bahadur on the left side of his abdomen and succumbed to injuries on the way to hospital. The crossfire continued from midnight till the morning hours of Friday.

The martyred jawan has been identified as BSF Constable Brijendra Bahadur Singh.

This is the fifth ceasefire violation by Pakistan in six days, according to PTI. "BSF troopers are retaliating emphatically and successfully", said BSF sources to IANS news office.
