"I've said it before, and I'll say it again, there is no place I would rather be than Oklahoma City", said Westbrook.

Westbrook has agreed to a five-year, $205 million contract extension with the Thunder, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski first reported on Fridday.

According to Woj, Westbrook's new deal begins with the 2018-19 season, and is the biggest guaranteed contract in National Basketball Association history - six seasons and $235 million through 2022-23.

Presti also had some added negotiating power after he acquired Paul George and Carmelo Anthony in a pair of offseason trades to show Westbrook he was committed to engaging in an arms race with the Western Conference's elite contenders. After losing Kevin Durant to free agency a year ago with nothing in exchange, it is obvious that Sam Presti and company don't want to make a similar mistake with Westbrook.

Instead, he turned his back and continued to walk back inside the White House. Asked whether he's planning on firing Price, Trump responded: "We'll see".

With new running mates in George and Anthony, the focus now shifts toward locking in this new-look "Big Three". Serving as an offensive force for the Thunder, Westbrook finished the year with a record-breaking 42 triple-doubles, breaking legend Oscar Robertson's previous mark. To have him cement his legacy as a leader as we enter into our 10th season in Oklahoma City is extraordinary. Here are the latest details on Westbrook's major deal and the National Basketball Association season ahead.

Originally selected by Oklahoma City with the fourth overall pick in the 2008 NBA Draft, Westbrook has helped guide the Thunder to the postseason in seven of the last nine seasons.

Westbrook made use of the Designated Player Veteran Extension, or "supermax" deal, which allowed the reigning Most Valuable Player to garner 35 percent of the salary cap and five extra seasons. He was named to the All-NBA 1st team in the last two seasons. Westbrook led the league in scoring with 31.6 points per game to go with 10.7 rebounds and 10.4 assists.
