"We are financially prepared to sign Coutinho or any other player in January", Barcelona Chief Executive Officer Oscar Grau said at a press conference on Wednesday.

Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu recently suggested that the club would not make a new attempt to sign him in January due to the Reds' high demands.

Coutinho had his heart set on moving to Barca and handed in a transfer request on August 11; Liverpool, however, insisted they would not give him his wish and warned Barcelona to stay away.
