Individuals with active DACA were not targeted for arrest, according to the report.

Across the region, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents also detained more undocumented immigrants who committed crimes, but arrests of those without criminal records rose at a much higher rate, according to agency data obtained by the Bangor Daily News through a public records request.

The release said a citizen of the Dominican Republic who entered the country illegally and had been convicted on firearms charges was among those arrested in Philadelphia.

"I think ICE ought to focus on the kinds of folks that we've been focusing on, which are violent, unsafe criminals who've been convicted of significant crimes", said Baker.

They say they need to counter the new administration's determination to enforce immigration laws more strictly than the Obama administration. Officials in San Jose, California, previously released from local custody before ICE could take him in to custody.

The sweeps resulted in 498 people from 42 different countries being arrested across the U.S. ICE notes that 107 people were arrested in Philadelphia, 101 in Los Angeles, 63 in Denver and 45 in NY. In Santa Clara County, the Sheriff's Office refuses to detain inmates for ICE and several cities prohibit their police from coordinating with immigration officials.

Will OJ Simpson Be Released From Prison On Sunday?
Simpson reportedly has $5 million in contributions to a retirement plan run by the Screen Actors Guild, according to USA Today . The jury also awarded Brown and Simpson's two children US$12.6m from their father as recipients of their mother's estate.

To counter the problem, Homan said that ICE was forced to allocate more resources and conduct large-scale operations, like the one this week, in those communities.

This story will be updated.

A total of 498 people from 42 countries, living in places from NY to California, were arrested on federal charges during what was called Operation Safe City.

On Thursday, as he did earlier this month, Homan emphasized the importance of cooperation across different levels of law enforcement.

According to ICE, 20 of the 50 people arrested in MA had no criminal records. "Non-cooperation policies severely undermine that effort at the expense of public safety". Local officials released her before ICE apprehended her in Baltimore. President Donald Trump has blasted sanctuary cities for their lenient attitudes toward immigrants without a legal status, threatening to remove federal funding and showing his support for "beautiful Kate Steinle", who was "gunned down in S.F.by an illegal immigrant".

But local activists are trying to raise awareness about the hotline, which notifies community members to show up and witness a raid as it happens and connects the targeted family with immigration attorneys. "We are deeply troubled by this politically-motivated and cruel form of immigration enforcement". "(ICE) is creating fear and panic in these communities, and in so doing are making them less safe". In all, 11 of the 28 taken into custody had criminal convictions.
