'When you're drinking from a creek and don't have food for your baby, it's not "good news": San Juan mayor slams Homeland Security chief for saying the Puerto Rico recovery is a 'good news story'

"We are dying, and you are killing us with the inefficiency and the bureaucracy", Carmen Yulín Cruz said Friday at a news conference.

At least 16 people on the island have been reported killed and there was widespread damage to homes, roads and infrastructure.

"Actually, I was asking for help - I wasn't saying anything nasty about the president", said Cruz, who has been living in a shelter after her home was destroyed in the hurricane.

Cruz was elected to lead San Juan, the roughly 350,000-person capital of Puerto Rico, in 2012, when she beat out incumbent Jorge Santini. "I am asking the President of the USA to make sure somebody is in charge that is up to the task of saving lives, Cruz added". "I am going to do what I never thought I would do. I do reiterate that the only way for this to work is for us to have collaboration", said Rosselló. "These people need help", Che continued.

"...People are now starting to recognize the unbelievable work that has been done by FEMA and our great Military", Trump continued.

But critics have accused Trump of showing more concern for the people of Texas and Florida, whose lives were also upended by major hurricanes this season.

Perez Otero says he has been in constant contact with USA officials and is confident that they will provide the very best recovery efforts they can. "Fantastic job!", he added.

Elphinston stampede: Minister sets deadline for officials
As per the reports, dozens of people took shelter on the bridge from the sudden thunderstorm that led to the deadly stampede. General Managers of Western and Central Railway AK Gupta and DK Sharma, respectively, also attended the meeting.

"I'm begging you, Puerto Rico needs your help", Villaseñor tells Baldwin.

The September storm ravaged the US territory, killing more than a dozen people and damaging roads and infrastructure.

The mayor lashed back by saying, "Maybe from where she's standing, it's a good news story". This is "there's a truckload of stuff that can not be taken to people" story.

Long told Whitfield that officials have been in continuous communication with Gov. Ricardo Rosselló - and he is "stepping up".

Many in the territory remain desperate for necessities, most urgently water, long after Hurricane Maria tore a ruinous path through the island September 20.

He also said the stockpiles of fuel have increased to 600,000 barrels of diesel and 722,000 barrels of gasoline.
