ECP has issued orders to the authorities to present Imran Khan before the commission on October 26

Minister for Privatization Daniyal Aziz has said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chief Imran Khan is a proclaimed offender in a case of terrorism, but is not being arrested.

Talking to reporters, PTI leader Naeemul Haq said that the issuance of the arrest warrant of Imran Khan is a condemnable act, adding that the decision will be challenged in the Islamabad High Court (IHC).

Opposition leader Khursheed Shah advised Imran Khan on Thursday to appear before Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) before police arrest him.

Four US 'sanctuary cities' may be violating law: US Attorney General Sessions
In April, a presidential executive order that would have cut off funds to sanctuary cities was stymied by a judge's order. The city has said its policies are legal, and vowed to sue if money is actually taken away.

The petition accuses the PTI leader of not declaring his assets to Election Commission of Pakistan.

Hitting out at the ECP's order, Babar Awan, Imran Khan's chief counsel said, "A new warrant is issued in the same case where a (bailable) warrant was already suspended". The warrants have been issued for the said date to ensure presence of the PTI chairman before the ECP on the next hearing.

The electoral body is hearing a case on alleged illegal foreign funding against Khan that had been filed against him by a party dissident Akbar S. Babar in November 2014. In August, the ECP had issued a second show-cause notice to Khan after he failed to reply to an earlier notice regarding the contempt of court proceedings against him. He further argued that the high court is going to hear a petition on the ECP's powers in connection with contempt of court hearings, DAWN reported. "We will also look into whether this is contempt of the IHC's full bench or not, and then (the party) we will challenge it".
