Clark County Sheriff Joe Lombardo had previously said the guard was shot after gunman Stephen Paddock fired at the country music festival and that the guard's arrival in the hallway of the Mandalay Bay hotel may have caused Paddock to stop firing.

At the news conference Monday, Lombardo said Campos, after he was shot on October 1, "immediately" told security what happened.

That was a different account from the one police gave last week: that Paddock shot the guard, Jesus Campos, after unleashing his barrage of bullets on the crowd. The sheriff would not say whether he thought the presence of Mr. Campos accelerated or affected Mr. Paddock's shooting plot.

Through her attorney Matthew Lombard, Danley said she never foresaw "something frightful like this was going to happen", and described the shooter as a "kind, caring man".

On Monday, Clark County Sheriff Joseph Lombardo announced a change to the sequence of events that occurred on October 1, saying a security guard who encountered Paddock was actually shot at 9:59 p.m. local time, minutes before the 64-year-old unleashed a hail of gunfire on unsuspecting concertgoers.

Charles "Sid" Heal, a retired Los Angeles County sheriff's commander and tactical expert, said the new timeline "changes the whole perspective of the shooting". "We want to figure out the why to this, and we'd like to know the motive".

Paddock worked for a time as an Internal Revenue Service agent, then began to invest in real estate, CNN reported.

"I'll gamble all night", he said.

After the ad received criticism, Dove released a statement looking to clarify its objective. Makeup artist, Naomi Blake (Naythemua), reposted the image, which has since gone viral.

The Las Vegas Police Department said authorities responded to a room on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay hotel, where Paddock was found dead.

"I do not do sun", Paddock said in the 97-page court document, according to CNN.

"It's because this individual purposely hid his actions leading up to this event, and it is hard for us to find the answers to those actions", Lombardo said. While Paddock claimed during his testimony that he had no history of mental illness, criminal convictions or history of addiction, he was reportedly prescribed Valium "for anxiousness".

A note containing handwritten numbers for wind, trajectory and distance was discovered by Stephen Paddock's body inside the Mandalay Bay room.

"We have uncovered no evidence to show there was a second shooter", Lombardo said, adding later they "do not believe there is one particular event in the suspect's life to key on" in determining a motive.

"We have no evidence or intelligence that the suspect was linked or had affiliations with any no terrorist groups or ideology", Lombardo said. Tanner accompanied FBI's investigators as they have search warrant of Paddock's house. People who knew Paddock described him as antisocial, someone who went out of his way to avoid other human beings, but his girlfriend said she saw no indication that he was capable of such horror.

Paddock also seemed very proud of his gambling abilities and said that he won "from $100 to $1,350" every time he played and hence, that wasn't big money for him.
