Apple has forecast between $84 billion and $87 billion in revenue for the holiday - mostly driven by sales of its $999 iPhone X - so it's unlikely that missing a few weeks of sales of its $349 speaker will affect its financial results, Bob O'Donnell, founder of Technalysis Research, said. The HomePod was created to compete with their counterparts like Sonos, Google Home, and Amazon Echo.

"We can't wait for people to experience HomePod, Apple's breakthrough wireless speaker for the home, but we need a little more time before it's ready for our customers", The Verge quoted an Apple spokesperson as saying late Friday. The much awaited smart speaker was originally set to be released in United States by December 2017, but will now be available in U.S., U.K. and Australia by early 2018.

If you were hoping to buy a HomePod for your honey this holiday season, you'll have to come up with plan b.

Knowing Apple and their delays, the HomePod could take time before hitting the stores.

AI Assistants are more used in smart speakers than phones.

Their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening, and Chief Parks said no charges would be filed. Parks said the conversation "erupted as far as bringing guns to church and protecting themselves".

The Siri-powered device was first announced at the company's Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) in June, with the company promising availability in December in time for Christmas. A Google Home Mini costs $49, but the company is also coming out with a higher-end version for $399. With HomePod, Siri would stop being only on iOS devices and Mac OS computers and would be much more present in people's lives through other devices.

The former get sound flowing throughout the room; the later detect voice commands starting with "Hey Siri" to perform tasks ranging from playing music to driving HomeKit-compatible devices such as Philips Hue LED lighting. Although developers can make apps for Siri and HomePod, they're now limited to building things like lists, notes, and messaging.

However, from the time the HomePod was unveiled, Apple's smart speaker rivals have also released new models of their own.

The Apple HomePod being released without any problems might be more important for Apple compared to holiday sales.
