Royals' Eric Hosmer named American League's 2017 Louisville Silver Slugger Award winner

First baseman Eric Hosmer joined an elite list of Kansas City Royals players Thursday when he was named the American League's 2017 Louisville Silver Slugger Award victor. The award is the second of Cruz's career after he was selected as one of the American League's top offensive outfielders in 2015. Lindor set a single-season franchise record for home runs by a shortstop (33), which is also a Major League Baseball record by a switch-hitting shortstop. He led the American League in RBI and ranked fourth in home runs, fifth in slugging (.549) and fifth in OPS (.924).

Cruz, who played in his age-36 season in 2017, is tied with Kansas City's Hal McRae (133 RBIs, 1982) as the second-oldest player to lead the American League outright in RBIs.

Springer hit.283 with 34 homers, 85 RBIs and 112 runs scored and made his first All-Star team. He also set new Major League records with 103 RBI and 383 total bases from the leadoff position.

Hulu on Switch Is Missing One Big Thing
The only indication that it's coming are the mention of the app in the email to press and a now blank page on Nintendo's website. With Hulu now officially available on the Switch, Nintendo appears to be ready to start offering video streaming services.

The Silver Slugger Award is Altuve's fourth and Springer's first.

The National League selections featured plenty of previous winners as first baseman Paul Goldschmidt and third baseman Nolan Arenado both won for the third time.

Justin Upton, who last week agreed to a five-year deal to stay with the Angels, won his third Silver Slugger award on Thursday, while Mike Trout came up empty for the first time in his career.
