Every new doctor boasts different mannerisms and fashion styles, and "Doctor Who" fans were given their first glimpse of Whittaker's costume on Thursday.

BBC has released the first image of Jodie Whittaker in her new costume as The Doctor, and I could not be more pleased! The stripe across her shirt instantly makes me think of Colin Baker's 6th Doctor coat and Tom Baker's 4th Doctor scarf.

Doctor Who fans rejoice.

Comic artist Patrick Goddard shared an early drawing he did of the costume, which he shared with the Doctor Who costume designer.

The news of Whittaker's casting was announced back in July when a teaser video made its way around the web, and with the drop of the image, fans are already falling in love with Whittaker and her new look.

It's a quirky ensemble and one that will fit right in with her predecessors' outfit of choice. Attack The Block's Jodie Whittaker landed the gig, which was a very nice get for Doctor Who, indeed.

Whittaker's costume gives us a lot to ponder.

It shows the Doctor dressed in a long coat, striped T-Shirt and high-waisted pants.

It's the dawn of a new era for Doctor Who. The next season kicks off during Fall 2018 via BBC America, and will be a 10-week run of 50-minute episodes (with an hour-long opener).

They are Bradley Walsh, Mandip Gill, Tosin Cole and Sharon D Clarke.

Whittaker will take over as the series lead in season 11, which will also be the debut of new series showrunner Chris Chibnall, one of the main writers on the Doctor Who spinoff Torchwood.
