Khalid was recognized for collaborating on Logic and Alessia Cara's socially conscious single "1-800-273-8255", which earned nominations for song of the year and music video.

The artist receiving the most nominations was Jay-Z.

After scoring two Golden Globes for his FX series Atlanta, the Grammys have followed suit by recognizing the greatness that is Donald Glover, by nominating his Childish Gambino album Awaken, My Love!

Jay-Z and Bruno Mars are nominees in the rap- and R&B-dominated top three categories at the 2018 Grammy Awards. The album's title track and "The Story of O.J." songs were nominated in song and record of the year.

RK Nagar seat sees fourth poll preparation
The RK Nagar seat, which Jayalalithaa represented for two terms, has been vacant following her death on December 5 previous year . However, it was subsequently canceled by the Election Commission (EC) over allegations of bribing voters.

The GRAMMY Awards will air live Sunday, January 28 on CBS.

Other artists with multiple nominations included: Kendrick Lamar with seven, Bruno Mars with six, Childish Gambino, No I.D., Khalid and Sza all with five nominations each.

The nominations for the 60th GRAMMY Awards were announced on Tuesday morning, and a couple area natives from The Country Music Highway were included in those announcements. Lady Gaga and Kesha landed two nods each in the same categories as Sheeran.

The absence of some of the biggest female artists marked a stark contrast with the 2017 awards, when Beyonce led the nominations and Britain's Adele swept the top awards.
