Edwards went just 15-33 in three seasons at the Chiefs helm before being fired after the 2008 season.

Edwards spent 10 seasons (1977-86) in the National Football League as a cornerback, the first nine with the Philadelphia Eagles. From 1987-89, he coached defensive backs at San Jose State. He split time with the Atlanta Falcons and Los Angeles Rams in his final season.
