Nets land Jahlil Okafor in stunning trade with 76ers

Okafor is talented enough to have attracted multiple offers, but the Sixers settled on what they felt was best for the future of the franchise, which in turn brought them yet another draft pick to help build their future.

The Nets acquired Okafor from the 76ers Thursday in a trade that also included shooting guard Nick Stauskas and a second-round pick in the 2019 draft, ESPN's Zach Lowe reported. The team has seen young players, including Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons, blossom in the past two seasons.

Obama Thanks Himself For Climate Change Progress In Funny Moment
Obama ratified the Paris agreement in 2015, and President Trump said in June that the US would pull out of it. Both French leaders have criticized Trump's decision to ditch the climate accord.

Okafor, the No. 3 pick of the 2015 draft, was dropped from the rotation this year and has played in only two games. In his 25 minutes of action, he is averaging 5.0 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.0 blocks per game. Okafor has largely been considered a bust and he asked for a contract buyout once the Sixers declined to pick up his option.

"I would like for them to just send me somewhere where I can get an opportunity", Okafor told ESPN in November. He averaged 10.1 points per game and 6.1 rebounds per game in 18 games for the Nets this season. The Sixers free up cap space for this upcoming offseason by moving Stauskas asusming that they do not retain Booker's services beyond this season. He's averaging just 12.5 minutes per game this season, and it was clear long ago that he wouldn't be a part of the 76ers' long-term plans.
